We love our growing little family so much! James and Rebecca met at Kmart when James was 22 and Rebecca was 16 and they became fast friends. After a while of dating they realized they wanted to be together for a long time so on August 26th, 2006 they decided to get married. A year later, August 28th, 2007 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.
In December of 2007 they found out they were expecting their first child. Rebecca had dreams that it was going to be a boy and in the dream she called him Rushton so they decided that his name would be Rushton. Rushton was supposed to be born on August 6th, 2008 but he came a little early because Rebecca ended up getting preeclampsia and had to be induced. After she was induced the doctors realized that the baby was breech. They ended up doing an emergency c-section and Rushton James Mont Erickson entered this world at 7:26 a.m. on June 23rd, 2008. He weighed 4 lbs 4.5 oz and was 17 1/2 inches long. He ended up staying in the NICU for 17 days and then was able to come home.
James and Rebecca lived with James' mom for the first 3 years of their marriage and decided to purchase their first home in Orem UT in July of 2009.
In 2010 they found out they were expecting their second child. This time they had no idea what they were having but they both welcomed whatever it was. They found out it was going to be another boy and had a little more difficulty choosing his name. They came across his name by accident by googling Book of Mormon names and for some reason Alexavier came up. If you have read the Book of Mormon you would know that Alexavier is not in there but they thought it had a wonderful ring to it and it was very beautiful so they decided that it was the perfect fit. Alexavier was expected to arrive on May 15th, 2011 but Rebecca went into labor when she was only 32 weeks along. She was dilated to a four and having pressure waves every 2 minutes apart and no medicine would help stop or slow them. She was able to hold off having Alexavier for another four weeks by staying on strict bed rest and even her older sister, Elizabeth drove across the country from Pennsylvania to help Rebecca out. Rebecca stayed in labor for the entire four weeks with the constant 2 minute apart pressure waves the whole time. Her water finally broke at 5 a.m. on April 21st, 2011 and when she arrived at the hospital she was progressing fast. She had decided to give birth naturally with no medicine so that she had less of a chance of having a repeat c-section and that she would be able to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Alexavier Oren Ronald Erickson was born into this world on April 21st, 2011 at 10:23 a.m. and weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. and was 19 inches long.
James currently works at JCPenney's and Rebecca works at Walmart and they both absolutely love it. They still reside in their home in Orem and hope to be there for a long time.
